Saco Lake Wellness Center
A proposal for a Wellness Center to complement the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Highland Center Lodge located in the rugged and majestic white mountains of New Hampshire. The AMC seeks to expand its resources to include a facility that offers physical and mental respite through the healing properties of water. The project references ancient traditions that utilize the water of various temperatures and states to rejuvenate and heal.
This project aims explicitly to minimize the disruption of the building to the forest by splitting up the programs and dispersing them around the trees in a tree-house system. The building blends in with nature on the outside and becomes one with nature on the inside.
